How to use Image Compare

  1. 1

    Add two images

Drop the before image in A and the after image in B. If they are different sizes, B is scaled to match A.

  2. 2

    Choose a view

Drag the slider, view them side by side, fade one over the other, or highlight every changed pixel in pink.

  3. 3

    Export

Download the current view as a PNG to share edits, retouching results or design changes.

Before and after, done right

Photographers, retouchers and designers often need to show what changed. The slider view reveals the edit as you drag across the image, which works well for colour grading, skin retouching, restorations, background removal or renovation photos. Side-by-side gives a quick overview, and fade blends the two images to spot subtle shifts in position or tone.

Find every difference

Difference mode compares the two images pixel by pixel and highlights every changed area in pink, with the percentage of pixels that differ. Use it to check compression artefacts, compare two exports of the same design, spot unwanted edits, test website screenshots for visual regressions, or simply win at spot-the-difference. The sensitivity slider ignores tiny variations such as JPG noise.

Private by design

Both images stay in your browser and are never uploaded, so it is safe for unreleased designs and client work. The exported comparison is saved at the original resolution of image A.

Frequently asked questions

Do both images need the same size?
No. Image B is automatically scaled to match image A. For accurate difference results, use images with the same dimensions and framing.
Can I export the slider view?
Yes. Download comparison image saves exactly what you see, including the slider position and the labels, at full resolution.
What does the percentage in Difference mode mean?
It shows the share of pixels whose colour changed more than the sensitivity threshold. Raise the sensitivity to ignore small differences such as compression noise.
Are my images uploaded?
No. The comparison runs entirely in your browser.
