How to use Image to SVG

  1. 1

    Upload your image

Drop a PNG, JPG or WEBP file. Logos, icons, clip art and line drawings give the best results.

  2. 2

    Tune the vector

Choose colour, grayscale or black and white, then adjust the number of colours, detail and smoothing. The preview updates live.

  3. 3

    Download the SVG

Save the .svg file or copy the code to paste into your website, Figma, Illustrator, Inkscape or Cricut.

What is vectorizing?

PNG and JPG files are made of pixels, so they get blurry when you enlarge them. An SVG describes the same picture as shapes and curves, so it stays perfectly sharp at any size, from a favicon to a billboard. This tool traces the outlines of each colour area in your image and turns them into smooth vector paths.

Best results

  • Logos and icons: use Colour mode with roughly as many colours as the original design.
  • Signatures, line art and stencils: use Black & white mode for clean, single-colour paths, ideal for cutting machines and laser engravers.
  • Photos: raise Smoothing and lower the colour count for a poster-style illustration. Real photos are not a good fit for SVG, because the file gets very large.
  • Use Remove specks to get rid of tiny dots caused by JPG noise.

Private and free

The tracing engine runs locally in your browser, so your artwork is never uploaded. There are no watermarks, no limits and no account to create. The SVG you download is plain, standards-compliant markup that opens in every browser and design program.

Frequently asked questions

Can I convert a JPG to SVG?
Yes. JPG, PNG, WEBP, GIF and BMP files are all supported. For JPGs, increase Remove specks a little to clean up compression noise.
Will the SVG look exactly like my image?
Flat graphics such as logos and icons convert very closely. Photos and gradients are simplified into flat colour areas, which creates an illustrated look.
Can I use the SVG with Cricut or a laser cutter?
Yes. Use Black & white mode for single-colour cut paths, then import the SVG into Cricut Design Space, Silhouette Studio, LightBurn or Inkscape.
Is my image uploaded?
No. The conversion happens entirely in your browser and your image never leaves your device.
